the blog
Lately, I’ve been extra considerate with the 24 hours I have in a day. Less scrolling, more talking. Less screen time, more reading. Less sitting, more dancing.
I wasn’t sure how to react to the fatal hate crimes that occurred just this week against the #AAPI community. The first thing I did was text my Lola.
Insert yourself authentically and wholeheartedly into situations so that you — the real and undivided you — can reap the benefits.
Time is my favorite thing in the world. It doesn’t matter who you are, what you do, or how you live. You have 24 hours in a day. And even better, you can’t buy time. Every individual has equitable access to the 1,440 minutes in a day.
What a limiting question that is. To think I know who I’ll be in 5 years? It’d be brave of me to assume I know who I’ll be even a year from now.
Set goals, dedicate yourself to commitments, accept failures in a positive way, and remember that you are the most you version of yourself today. Give yourself some credit for this lifetime of growth so far.
Very occasionally (but clearly often enough for me to write about it), I have this dreadful thought: my friends must f*ckin’ hate me.
