Opal

CEO & Co-Founder | Product Department Lead | Operations Department Lead

Opal is a mentorship hosting-platform created to help college students find mentors that can assist them through the job- and internship-search process.

I Co-Founded Opal with two of my best friends during our senior year in college.

Since then, we’ve participated in the Bronco Venture Accelerator, built our team to 35 people, and are now preparing for app launch.

Though my role at Opal varies day-to-day, I lead the Product and Operations Departments, with a special focus on roles similar to Product Design Leads, Product Leads, and Product Managers.

UFEEL

Product Designer | UX Researcher

The UFEEL application is a mental wellness tracker, journal, and resource app for SCU students. The application was a collaborative project between the Public Health Department and the Computer Science & Engineering Department within the School of Engineering.

I was the Product Designer and UX Researcher for the team. Though an initial design was created, my team and I decided that there was a need to modernize the design and improve the aesthetics if we expected students to continuously use it. I created the branding guidelines, wireframes, prototypes, and design of the mobile application before passing on the design to a group of developers.

eCampus

Product Designer | UX Researcher

As part of a Web Usability course at SCU, I redesigned the SCU eCampus website. The eCampus site is a critical resource for students, parents, and employees at SCU. All main functions expected by these various users, such as registering for classes, paying fees, and logging hours into a timesheet, are done through eCampus.

One issue with eCampus, however, is its lack of usability. It is neither easy nor fun to use. The intuitiveness of the application is extremely low.

As a result, I redesigned a few major pages of the site for a Web Usability course project.
